Why Jiu-Jitsu is a team sport!

I've heard it said that Jiujitsu is an individual sport. Each person is on their own journey and when you compete you are on your own.

While these statements are very true I have found in my ten years of training that without my team I have nothing.

Each individual brings something to the table to be counted.

Jared brings pressure while Christian brings quickness and speed. Lani brings solid technique while Brian brings consistency.

It's true that each of these people are on their own journey and at different places in their own rights.

Let's just slow down and look at the simple facts.

You begin Martial Arts for a reason. I may begin Martial Arts for another reason.

We are all seeking a common goal to get better at whatever it is we started for.

Along the journey we take bits and pieces of training partners and Instructors with us.

Compiling all of this information and implementing when needed whether on or off the mats.

We are all individuals in a team sport called Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

We are a family of individuals bonded together by sweat and determination.

Your team will not be the same without you just as you will not be the same without your Team.

Brazilian Jiujitsu is not an individual sport.

It takes every single person on your team to help make everyone better.

If you've been missing class, make a point to be consistent.

If you attend regularly, make a point to help out a teammate with some tips.

If you've never tried Jiujitsu this is your invitation.

Our team is friendly and welcoming.

Just ask any of our members.

Try a free week with no obligations and you'll experience why Gator Family Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is Delands best.

See you on the mats,

Coach Wallace
